Los Senderos Studio, LLC, is a locally owned and operated recording studio located halfway between Johnson City and Blanco. The owner is Larry Seiler, and he splits his time between his home in Austin and the Ranch. The ranch is also the home to our live music venue, Los Senderos Ranch. Although he moved away from Austin after graduating from the University of Texas, he and his family got back to the Austin area as soon as they could. His parents bought the ranch in the early 1980s, and his mother still lives there. Larry also owns and manages Longhorn Collision Center in Austin, but he spends as much time as he can on the ranch.
Community Involvement - We believe that being a responsible business carries with it the responsibility to be involved in the local community. We are actively involved in a number of activities and organizations, and some of them are shown on this page.
Johnson City Chamber of Commerce - Los Senderos Studio is a member of the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce. We also helped sponsor the Annual Spangle Dangle, the Fourth of July celebration and fireworks over the Pedernales River near the Blanco County fairgrounds. The chamber also publishes a weekly e-newsletter providing information about various events going on in Johnson City and surrounding Blanco county. For more information, visit the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce website, your official website for information about Johnson City businesses, events and tourism in Johnson City and the surrounding Texas Hill Country.
The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) provides access to affordable health care for Austin's uninsured musicians, focusing on prevention and wellness. Austin is the "Live Music Capital of the World," yet many professional working musicians are self-employed and rarely have access to health insurance. Without insurance, they can't afford preventive health care, including primary medical care, basic dental services, and mental health counseling. HAAM is working to fill this gap. We have been working with this worthwhile group since 2006. Annually we participate in the HAAM Benefit Day in October each year. For more information, go to Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.
Family Eldercare was founded in 1982 by a group of professionals concerned with supporting the family's role as caregiver for frail elders through training and information. The agency soon expanded to include services to prevent abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of elders and adults with disabilities. Today, Family Eldercare provides a continuum of services on a sliding fee scale to more than 5,000 elders, people with disabilities, and their caregivers annually in Travis, Williamson and Hays counties. Larry's wife, Terri, is a member of the board of directors for Family Eldercare. Larry has supported this program by regularly donating to silent auctions at a variety of fundraising events. For information visit FamilyEldercare.org.
Zach Scott Theatre Center (ZACH) is one of Austin's most vibrant and innovative arts organizations and Central Texas' oldest professional theatre. ZACH produces professional theatre of the highest artistic quality, inspired by a unique artistic vision and offers a diverse theatre experience accessible to the whole community. Since 2002, Larry has been a volunteer for Zach and continues to volunteer from time to time. For more information, go to ZachScott.com.
SiteSource Real Estate Services - I mentioned my wife Terri above, but when she is not involved in community activities, she works at at Site Source Real Estate, LLC, which she founded in 1997. She is an executive with over 20 years of development experience in real estate and construction in a retail environment. Site Source Real Estate Services specializes in real estate site selection and portfolio management. For more information, go to SiteSourceUSA.com.
I am also involved in a few other ventures involving Texas musicians. My friend John Wilson and I formed YourTexasMusic.com in 2005 with the idea of promoting CDs of Texas musicians. That site has now evolved into an online ticket and CD outlet for Texas music, as well as Texas music-related art. If you're into Texas music, please check the site out.
Strings Attached - For several years, Longhorn Collision Center was a corporate sponsor of Will Taylor & Strings Attached. While we are no longer sponsors, we promote Strings Attached whenever we can. If you have not attended one of these concerts, you are in for a real treat. First, the shows are presented in a local church here in Austin, which gives you are rather intimate atmosphere, to say the least. Then Will Taylor's Strings Attached backs up a local musician with that artist's music arranged by Will or one of his band members. Sometimes, several local artists are featured in a program with a special theme such as the music of the Beatles or some other major artist. Besides being a sponsor, Larry has been a volunteer for Strings Attached since 2001. For more information, visit their website, StringsAttached.org.
As we mentioned above, we also operate Los Senderos Ranch, a live music venue presenting concerts by local Texas artists once a month. Check out the website for more information and a schedule of upcoming concerts.
Come for the beer and barbecue—stay for the music!
