Recorded Samples Now Available by Genre
We at Los Senderos Studio are frequently asked for samples of our work. Until recently we always referred such questions to our website where we had an assortment of tracks in a variety of genres all in one place. In order to help simplify that process, we recently began posting samples by genre. So now you won't have to dig through hard rock music to find an example of a country track or vice versa.
The only problem is that modern music sometimes defies classification. Some artists who classify themselves as Americana get plenty of airplay on the country stations, and a lot of what the Americana stations play sound a lot like country to me. And pop music has always had its share of crossovers. So if you're looking for a sample of a particular style of music, you might want to try some of the other genres listed on the site. And one other caveat...we are not responsible to the quality of the picking and singing, only the quality of the sound. (No offense intended for our clients. Most of them are pretty good.)

How Can We Help You

Session Musicians
We occasionally need session musicians to back up vocalists who come into the studio. Sometimes we need a bass player, a drummer, or a steel player to overdub some tracks. Whatever the need, it is our policy to have the client make arrangements directly with the required musicians. However, we feel it is our responsibility to maintain a list of available musicians with contact information. So if you do session work and want to be included on our list, please drop us an email with your name, the instruments you play, your rates, and contact information. We will add it to our database.

This newsletter is going out to about 200 musicians. I figure there must be well over 2,000 bands and musicians in the Central Texas area. So I'm sure you know someone who would enjoy receiving our newsletter. So forward this newsletter to all your buddies. Here is a site that may be of interest to you. It's YourTexasMusic.com, formed several years ago as an outlet to sell CDs of Texas music artists. The idea came to us after talking to several musicians looking for better ways to sell CDs. The site has now devel- oped into a place to sell CDs, tickets, and Texas-music-related art.
Everyone agrees that George Strait and Willie Nelson have no problem selling their albums. So you won't find them here. What you will find is CDs from well-known local artists, as well as many new and upcoming artists that may not be as well known to the general public. So if you are looking for a place to sell your CDs, your art, or tickets to a musical event, check it out.

We have been a supporter of the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) almost from the very start, first with some of our other business ventures, and now through our recording studio. This year HAAM Benefit Day occurs on September 22. That's the day that participating area merchants donate a percentage of their sales revenue to HAAM. We believe that HAAM is a wonderful cause because it provides medical services to area musicians who have no insurance and who otherwise would not be able to afford it.
