The Longevity Foundation
Los Senderos Studio is a contributor to the Longevity Foundation, which is dedicated to the research and prevention of accelerated aging. The Longevity Foundation supports collaborative, leading-edge research into neurodegeneration, cancer, and otherdiseases associated with premature aging. It sponsors a national network of researchers led by a team based at M. D. Anderson's Science Park in Houston, to find practical, holistic, near-term treatments and preventions. The Longevity Foundation also provides health information and referrals to the general public.
Walt and Tina Wilkins are also supporting The Longevity Foundation with a wonderful CD they have recorded entitled Vigil, which has received rave reviews. All proceeds from the sale of this CD goes to help the Longevity Foundation and its research. All resources to make the CD were donated including the reproduction, which was done by Tom Cherry of Boston. Donations and sales of this CD have already exceeded $6,000.

Los Senderos Studio to Record
The Harmony Singers
Singer-songwriter and artist Tressie Seegers works with a group of special needs children with a program of education in arts and music. As a part of this program she regularly takes a number of these kids to perform before live audiences at various music venues in the Austin area. She calls the group the Harmony Singers and from time to time they are joined by other musicians in the area.
On November 24, the Harmony Singers will perform several Christmas songs at Waterloo Ice House, 9600 South IH-35 (on the southbound service road). Several unannounced musicians are planning on joining us. Los Senderos Studio will record the live performance. Several songs will be selected to go on a Christmas CD to be released by Red Boot Music. All proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to support the education through art and music program for these special needs kids. So come be a part of the live audience between 6 and 8 pm on the 24th. We will let you know when the CD tentatively entitled A Harmony Christmas will be available for purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. If I am using some other software in my home studio, am I completely out of luck bringing it to a ProTools studio?
A. No, there are ways to convert the files to be usable by any DAW (digital audio workstation). It is usually not too complicated, but can be time-consuming, especially if you have many tracks. Call us and we will help walk you through it.
Q. Can the session files be played on my computer at home?
A. The wav files can be played on any computer with a player that plays wav files. However, quite often a track consists of many wav files some of which have been pieced together (such as a punch in). The session file tells Pro Tools how to put these snippets together correctly. It would be very difficult to try to re-assemble them into some kind of reasonable order so they would sound like they did in the studio. If you want to hear the final product, the best bet is to bounce them down to a CD that can be played on any CD player.
